Meet the experts

Megan O. Doyle is an occupational therapist who has practiced in a variety of healthcare settings, currently working for St. Luke's Health System in Boise, ID at their Elks Inpatient Rehabilitation Hospital. She was drawn to pain science as an OT due to occupational therapy's scope of practice being rooted in mental and behavioral health, in addition to the promotion of self-management strategies for clients. She recently achieved a Fellowship in Pain Sciences through Evidence in Motion/International Spine & Pain Institute, of which she is only the second OT practitioner to do so. She not only delivers pain neuroscience education (PNE) and interventions one on one to clients, but she also provides guidance towards comprehensively integrating non-pharmacological pain treatment and PNE for all patients via an interdisciplinary perspective, especially in the treatment of acute pain in her health system. Megan has presented on a multitude of pain-related topics at the state and national level, both to occupational therapy and multidisciplinary audiences.

Gina is a 1999 graduate of the Masters of Occupational Therapy Program at Duquesne University. She has worked at the Cleveland Veterans Administration since graduating. Her speciality areas include: home care, home modifications, wheelchair seating and positioning, and vision. She has certifications in The Listening Program, inTime, and FIM. She is also a Reiki Master. Gina currently is pursuing her OTD at Mount Mary University in Milwaukee, WI.

Lynn Pierce, RN, BSN, CPHRM, is a risk control consultant for CNA Healthcare. Prior to joining CNA, she worked in such clinical settings as emergency, surgical and cardiac critical care, and cardiac and orthopedic rehabilitation services. She has served as a director of risk management in acute care hospitals and integrated health care systems and has held leadership positions in risk management, quality, HIPAA privacy, environmental and patient safety, case management, corporate compliance, Workers’ Compensation and infection prevention. In 2002, she became a certified legal nurse consultant. She earned her BSN from the University of West Georgia in Carrollton, Georgia.
