Principles of client-centered care for the pediatric upper extremity patient, considering both the child and their parent, will be discussed in this course. It will discuss how to best involve the family/caregiver in establishing treatment goals and activities with the knowledge of the OT guiding the process.

Neuroanatomy of carpal tunnel syndrome and median nerve compression and current treatment protocols as a segue into introducing Qigong as nerve gliding exercises will be reviewed in this course.

Mindful movement, based on various yoga principles and exercises, has been proven to be highly effective in helping children deal with stressors often associated with the school/classroom environment.
