The course will offer considerations in the process of evaluation and assessment as part of the supervisory process. Specific strategies, as well as pitfalls to avoid, will be offered with application to the supervision of students and supervisees within the work setting.

This presentation will address Medicare guidelines as they pertain to therapy documentation in a skilled nursing facility (SNF). Topics covered will include conditions of coverage, certification of services, documentation requirements and the Medicare appeals process.

This article provides information on the development of play in infants, toddlers, and young children. The primary emphasis is on the growth of specific aspects of play skills as children age, including the use of objects, agents, sequencing of actions, and development of play themes. General age guidelines for changes in those behaviors are also provided.

Pediatric problem eating can lead to stressful mealtime environments for an entire family. Families tend to have significant difficulties improving the eating habits of their children without intervention. The focus of feeding therapy with problem eaters is to improve the relationship between the parent and child around the mealtime.

While the importance of evidence-based practices is acknowledged by practitioners, it is not easy to sort through competing claims. This update on recent treatment research in ASD will focus on identifying current popular approaches that have evidence, and at what level.
