This seminar reviews the definition of a fall and risk factors related to falls. Evidence-based assessments demonstrated to be predictive of risk are reviewed as they relate to occupational therapy practice with elderly clients. - After this course, participants will be able to describe the evidence-based practice process for fall risk assessment with elderly clients.
- After this course, participants will be able to identify intrinsic and extrinsic risk factors for falls and 5 evidence-based assessments to quantify these.

Kathleen Weissberg, OTD, OTR/L
Kathleen Weissberg, in her 20+ years of practice, has worked in long-term care as a researcher/educator and has established various programs in nursing facilities including palliative care and end of life care, incontinence management, falls management and dementia care and staging. She currently provides continuing education support to 6000 therapists nationwide as Director of Education for Select Rehabilitation.
