Lisa Cabiale O'Connor, M.A.
Lisa O'Connor has been involved with supervision since 1978. During her 20 years at California State University, Los Angeles, she taught a variety of graduate and undergraduate courses, and supervised students in both on-campus and off-campus practica. She was the recipient of a federal training grant from the U.S. Department of Education, training over 30 bilingual paraprofessionals to work with monolingual SLPs. She has presented numerous workshops at state and national conferences, especially in the area of supervision. She has served on task forces and committees at both the state and national levels developing guidelines for the use of support personnel. She served on the working group that developed California regulations for the use of assistants. She is a past President of the California Speech-Language Hearing Association, a member of the ASHA Legislative Council, and Chair of the Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Licensing Board in California.
