This course will provide clinicians strategies and tools to guide care for unique children with various involvement of limb differences and their families to participate in everyday activities and daily living skills. This course is Day 2 of the virtual conference: Current Topics in Upper Limb Loss and Difference.

Individuals with upper limb loss/difference (ULL/D) are likely to encounter secondary conditions that include pain, overuse and perceptions of isolation, and social stigma often require specialized services, including occupational therapy that may be difficult to access. Today’s course highlights the development, implementation, and evaluation of a telehealth program that offered preventive information, strategies, and peer interaction. This course is Day 1 of the virtual conference: Current Topics in Upper Limb Loss and Difference.

This course is geared to clear up common misconceptions of seating and positioning that create barriers for successful wheelchair positioning of the Long Term Care (LTC) resident. After this course, an LTC therapist will be better informed on basic seating and positioning principles to better choose a wheelchair, cushion and back support.

Power wheelchair evaluation determines appropriateness for power wheelchair use and then determines the optimal power wheelchair base, power seating, driving method and other needed components. Optimizing power wheelchair driving is critical to improve outcomes and includes choosing the best drive wheel configuration, utilizing tracking technologies, and programming.

The new Patient-Driven Payment Model (PDPM), going into effect on Oct. 1, 2019, sets a combined 25 percent limit on concurrent and group therapy per therapy discipline provided. What does this mean for your therapy practice? This webinar will review definitions and best practice guidelines, including documentation, for group and concurrent therapy in skilled nursing facilities.
