During the screening process, would you advise to bring the family in as well?
Answer
There is the problem of HIPAA. Depending upon what kind of release the patient has signed, you could bring the family in, which makes sense. If they have not signed a release, then you are handicapped in terms of being able to bring them in. If you can, yes you should bring the family in. We need to know if there is a family history. Has there been a problem before? Has the person received treatment before? If so, where?
