Course Learning Outcomes Preview Exam
- After this course learners will be able to define mild traumatic brain injury and identify physiologic, cognitive, and psychosocial outcomes of blast injury.
- After this course learners will be able to differentiate similarities and differences between mild TBI resulting from blast injury and other etiologies of mild TBI, such as motor vehicle accidents.
- After this course learners will be able to identify promising areas of neuroimaging appropriate to mild traumatic brain injury.
- After this course learners will be able to select evidence-based management practices appropriate for cognitive rehabilitation of mild traumatic brain injury.
- After this course learners will be able to identify at least three limitations of our current understanding of mild traumatic brain injury and directions for future research.

Gail V. Pashek, Ph.D., CCC-SLP
Dr. Gail Pashek obtained her BA and MA from the University of Minnesota and her Ph.D. in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Pittsburgh. She has extensive experience in clinical management and university teaching in the area of traumatic brain injury. She has conducted research and published articles in the area of neurogenic cognitive-communicative disorders in major journals such as Brain and Language, Cortex, Journal of Medical Speech-Language Pathology, Aphasiology, Journal of Speech and Hearing Research, and Journal of Communication Disorders. She is a member of the Academy of Neurogenic Communication Disorders and Sciences (ANCDS), ASHA's Division 2 Neurophysiology and Neurogenic Speech and Language Disorders, and is a regional representative for the National Aphasia Association.
