This webinar will introduce the learner to the basic tenets of wrist evaluation. Attendees will learn to decide which testing is appropriate based upon patient report and symptoms guided by knowledge of anatomical structures. In addition, interpretation of findings will be examined in order to develop an appropriate client centered plan of care.

Beyond the Basics will take one step further from our basic’s course and give you resources to put aquatic therapy into practice today. We will get into the details of how you can greatly impact your patients with the use of aquatic therapy in your treatment plans. We will gather new tools for the old tool box and learn how to use the water with your appropriate patients. We will discuss the importance of how you document aquatic therapy so that the insurance companies continue to reimburse for these services.

Aquatic Therapy Basics will focus on why we use water as a modality in our clinics. We will discuss the principles of water and how these impact our treatments. We will learn the contraindications, precautions and how the major systems of the body are impacted by the principles of water. Finally, we will discuss the therapeutic benefits of the use of water with a case study review.

This presentation will discuss the role of client-centered care in occupation based practice. The featured presenter will discuss the power of narrative, connection to the client, multiple ways of knowing, and various conceptualizations of client-centered care and therapeutic use of self.
