Question

How often do you follow-up with a pediatric client after a seating evaluation?

Answer

It depends upon the complexity of the case.  I may just see the person for the initial seating evaluation and that will be all the client needs as the seating system is very basic and straight forward.  However, if the client requires custom seating with a new base, either power or manual, as well as a communication device, this may take several appointments to insure that the equipment is fitting and working properly.  For example, I may see a very involved client who requires custom molded seating and a communication device for the following appointments:  initial evaluation, custom seating evaluation, custom seat fitting, follow-up for seating, follow-up for communication device and finally follow-up for function of both working together.  Again, it depends upon the complexity of the case and any problems that may arise.
