Great explanations for why yoga and mindfulness can be helpful in the classroom. This will be good information to share with teachers who are reluctant to take time for more direct/specific movement breaks.

The way it was laid out it was easy to follow and it began with an overview of sensory processing disorders, the subtypes and information about each area before diving into everything else. With the world it is today I feel like this is so applicable across not just school aged children but adults alike. I feel like mindfulness and yoga practices should be implemented in all classrooms as its benefits extend beyond just children diagnosed with SPD

I will for sure be expanding more on your website. Thank you for a jump start :)

The course was informative. I take issue with the exam, however. Especially the question about which yoga pose does not help balance. By my understanding, all of those poses help. I just looked up the bridge pose to see if I was incorrect and improved balance was one of the specific benefits listed for practicing this pose. Confusing! I also think is odd that she would ask about specific poses in the exam since she did not go into them by name. She had one slide that had a million list, but I don't think she even read them. Overall, however, this was a satisfactory course.

The instructor incorporated ways to use breathing and yoga poses in the classroom. She also provided examples of everyday activities to help with sensory issues (instead of just providing activities that would only be appropriate in a therapeutic setting). I feel like I will be able to use a lot of the strategies in a whole group classroom setting and that the strategies will benefit every single child, whether of not they have SPD.
