This course meets the requirements of TN board of ethics requirements and is designed to help practitioners with the ethical dilemmas in everyday practice. The information also includes the AOTA Occupational Therapy Code of Ethics and Ethics Standards, with a goal to promote a better understanding of the ethical decision making process in healthcare.
Learning Outcomes
- After this course, participants will be able to identify the basic similarities and differences between ethics and morals, common ethical theories, and steps of the ethical decision-making process.
- After this course, participants will be able to apply the AOTA's Occupational Therapy Code of Ethics and Ethics Standards.
- After this course, participants will be able to apply the occupational therapy portions of the Tennessee Code Annotated Title 63- Chapter 13: The Occupational and Physical Therapy Practice Act and the rules of the Tennessee Board of Occupational Therapy Chapter1150-02: General Rules Governing the Practice of Occupational Therapy.
