This course will cover occupational therapist’s management of upper extremity and hand burns from acute injury through scar formation with rehabilitation implications including edema management, orthotics, precautions and appropriate exercise throughout each phase. Wound coverings, dressings and scar management techniques will be addressed.

Nora has focused her clinical practice in hand and upper extremity trauma, nerve injury and wounds through hospitals and outpatient clinics in Boston, MA, Washington, DC, Baltimore, MD and now Bend, OR. Nora has presented nerve, multi-trauma and wound/burn topics at various courses and conferences throughout the country and co-authored the Wound Chapter in the upcoming 7th edition of Rehabilitation of the Hand & Upper Extremity, Elsevier, Philadelphia, PA.
