It was an overall description of disciplines, but I don't think it addresses the enormous issue that it is in the older population in America today. I live in a 55 and older community, and i have worked in nursing homes and home health, and I find it is the biggest issue facing older populations. I was hoping for better answers, or more in depth look at pain. We all know the different disciplines, but how do we get these people through day to day.

Wow! I loved this presentation, especially all of the alternatives to traditional medicine. I like this fact that she brings a different perspective in being a medical sociologist. I’ve attended many other pain courses and have learned a lot from them, but this was a nice addition and a little more in depth on the. Benefits of integrative approaches. in

Too much time spent on the intro of the problem. The first half was information I was generally already familiar with and didn't think I was learning anything or very engaging. Second half with the actual techniques was better and wish the whole corse would have been an expanded course on application of those different techniques.

I am thankful that finally there is evidence to support various forms of intervention of pain and that they are supported. It used to be taboo if a practitioner suggested alternatives methods, now with the presented information I feel more confident in suggestion that a patient look at various means of managing pain and know that I am staying within my scope of practice. I look forward to more research to support these interventions. Thank you!

Love the emphasis on non-pharamacy measures. Mayo has long had a pain management class for chronic pain that uses zero medication with huge success.
