Burn Support Groups

Jennifer Conway, OTR/L

August 16, 2012

Question

Do you have any support groups at the hospital for burn patients and their families?

Answer

We have several burn support groups.  Due to the fact that we specialize in pediatric burns, we run many support groups that are focused both on the patient and their family. The first, the Phoenix Society, comes in and runs a support group for our patients in the acute side of the hospital.  We also have a "sibling group" which is for the siblings of patients on our units.  Finally, we run a "parent group" three times per week.  All are very important groups to have with this population.
