This was an awesome introduction to occupational therapy and its role in unhoused individual. I met Caitlin at one of the NHCHC conference were she presented. She is an amazing OT and I definitely enjoy her work with our unhoused population. This presentation gave a great overview of an OT's role in the different phases of individuals experiencing homelessness.

This topic was my master's thesis way back in 2005. I interviewed people experiencing homelessness at a free clinic in Salt Lake City. I used the COPM to interview. With the small sample I had, I felt discouraged because I saw a lot of learned helplessness. But after watching your presentation, I can see how being trauma-informed can be helpful in addressing learned helplessness. I can also see there is so much that OTs can do in this setting! Great work!
