I am familiar with this area in practice but I liked some of the stroies and examples the presenter used, this helped give me even more ideas. I liked that she had research to support her ideas. She gave some great activity examples for a range of ages and discussed how to add academic information to the movement.

This course provides very good strategies for implementing movement in sessions and in the classroom. Examples of movement activities were also provided to help providers in actualizing the idea of movement breaks. The course embraces therapist-teacher collaboration, teaches how to maintain structure during those movement breaks, and provides wording to be used to prepare students for the next task.

It such a fresh approach to getting movement in for bored kiddos. I am aware certain patients need more movement before sitting, but the two I always think of that have the capacity to engage, have a tendency to go off the rails. Any "fun" exercise and the excitement gets to them, they do two steps and then get silly and do their own thing instead of following directions. I think the ideas in this course will help me create a more structured approach.

I was anticipating the content to be a bit more directed at how to use movement more specifically in OT sessions or for school-based OT goals rather than classroom support. While this is an area we can practice in schools, it is not an area that I currently have to capacity to carryout as well due to caseload and goal areas. That being said, there were some great ideas provided for when I do get the chance to implement whole classroom activities!
