The OT presented this course very well. She is helping me and other Occuaptional Therapist to collaborate with teacher to intertrate sensory/brain breaks to help students to focus. She shared strageties to integrate cognitive, content and fine motor as well as gross motor exericses in class. I love to consult with teachers to analyze how to provide pusrposeful movement in the classroom.

It was very helpful to see various ways to collaborate with the teachers to help students get the necessary movement breaks required to help students to focus and get various moves that would work in the space they were provided as well as when appropriate times could be for students to participate. I loved all of the various intervention ideas.

The information was concise and informative. The instructor was clear and had many examples that were helpful. I think the ideas are good to help in the classroom but I will mostly apply these to OT sessions. I have very few classes with more than 1 student in them. My groups are mixed and it would be hectic to schedule the week and still have time for writing implementation, visual cue cards for students and setting up sensory diets with equipment.

I liked her suggested activities but felt this was more an introductory level than intermediate in terms of the information and tying it higher level clinical reasoning(i.e. going into more detail research/data on how it impacts the nervous system). However, I think this course would be great for teachers and other members of the school team to gain ideas for their classrooms as well.
