The instructor explains the material well without using medical jargon so it does not become overwhelming to understand. The explanation of the physiological component of stress, the parasympathetic and sympathetic nervous system, and the release of stress hormones helps decode sensory meltdowns. I support the positiveness in messaging that not all sensory processing differences lead to problems, and that self-regulation is influenced by the environment and is an excellent framework for OT intervention.

This course correlates with the population I work with in regards to being in a private day school for students with autism/behavioral issues.
