Provided examples from practice and remained positive. Encouraging to fellow OTRs that it's okay to trial strategies and not be successful as it's less a reflection on you and more on it not working for the specific child/situation. Provided lots of realistic applications.

Moira is an excellent presenter and shared so much of her experience with us in a short two hours! This course should be required for teachers before they start their first jobs as the information would truly help to plan a great environment for both typical and neurodivergent clients and students of all ages! As a COTA/L who hasn't practiced since before COVID it was nice to see that some recent research has provided more data to base treatments. Highly recommend this course!

The best course I have taken regarding sensory processing and self regulation in years of practice and extensive training. Excellent research supports for efficacy. Perfectly targets causes, strengths and needs of an individual’s physical, physiological, and emotional responses. Love the way this ties in years of effective interventions and explains simply the importance of these interventions. Explaining that behavior is communication.

The course was steeped in research, but felt very accessible. I appreciated that the presenter shared what she had learned over her years of practice - how she used to approach things and how she has changed her approach in response to research and experience. This course emphasized grace and shared humanity, which makes the idea of approaching therapy seem more like coming alongside and helping someone vs. fighting against the grain. I also appreciated the input from neurodivergent people.

I really like that she used actual input from kids/adults who have autism and their input for sensory processing. i like that she used herself as an example. Asking to children to use there words is not the first place to start, which I see a lot of therapist do and it makes the children more angry.

Moira is your best teacher ever! She repeats enough to help me remember the concepts but packs in suggestions and personal stories to illustrate her words. Slides were very supportive and relevant and easy to understand - helped clarify the words with visuals. I can feel the truth of her understanding and research. I can feel the truth of her interventions and quickly see my clients and what might help. I like that there are no formulas - because people are all so different.
