First found it interesting that I am currently reading at my counselors advice O. W book "What Happened To You" The book really pulls out how are developemtn from childhood to adult affects our mental health. The presentation also address this and proviided the OTP with insight on how to consider past history and life events to address current physical and mental health issues. Great presentation and good resourse for the OTP in all practice settings

I think a lot of people forget that mental health is just as important as our multiple other areas of health including physical, spiritual, etc. so it is very important for us as OT’s to incorporate mental health practices into our training to best treat individuals in the most holistic way. It’s also important to incorporate these into a home setting for the pt as it where all of their ADLs and IADLs are being completed

I was pretty familiar with the material. However, the course was well-organized & provided reinforcement about incorporating a person's mental health into our practice in order to treat the whole person. The course clearly emphasized how mental health impacts clinical outcomes because of the mind-body connection. I liked when the presenter said that we're here for professional development, but personal development is equally as important to being an effective OT.

I enjoyed this course because the topic resonates with patients at work, my personal life as well as everyday interactions with strangers. The presenter shared how important it is for therapists to maintain their mental well being and understand that they can relate to clients on another level. No one is free of stressors, worries or bad days which is why this course was very eye opening. She provided great situation samples with examples on how to responses to difficult moments.

I didn't know I needed this particular class right now, but I did, and I am so thankful. The way she spoke, very knowledgeable and compassionate, especially towards patients. I have been struggling with my mental health lately which has been inhibiting my therapist/patient connection. This class was very helpful, easy to listen to and follow along. Opened up my eyes on who I want to be, as a therapist, and an individual. Thank you... Taylor Garcia, COTA/L
