I was pretty familiar with the material. However, the course was well-organized & provided reinforcement about incorporating a person's mental health into our practice in order to treat the whole person. The course clearly emphasized how mental health impacts clinical outcomes because of the mind-body connection. I liked when the presenter said that we're here for professional development, but personal development is equally as important to being an effective OT.

I enjoyed this course because the topic resonates with patients at work, my personal life as well as everyday interactions with strangers. The presenter shared how important it is for therapists to maintain their mental well being and understand that they can relate to clients on another level. No one is free of stressors, worries or bad days which is why this course was very eye opening. She provided great situation samples with examples on how to responses to difficult moments.

I didn't know I needed this particular class right now, but I did, and I am so thankful. The way she spoke, very knowledgeable and compassionate, especially towards patients. I have been struggling with my mental health lately which has been inhibiting my therapist/patient connection. This class was very helpful, easy to listen to and follow along. Opened up my eyes on who I want to be, as a therapist, and an individual. Thank you... Taylor Garcia, COTA/L

I went to college for OT in hopes to work in the mental aspect of patient treatment but when I graduated as a COTA they were phasing out state hospitals and mental health care and by the time I graduated as an OT the jobs available were school based or geriatrics and hospital focused. I loved this course and the enthusiasm the speaker had for the subject giving me hope that I will finally be able to work in mental health as I originally had planned.
