Billing, documentation, intervention, and treatment for youth clients living with a mental health condition adversely affecting daily occupations in the outpatient clinic setting will be discussed in this course. A cognitive behavioral frame of reference (CB-FoR) guides treatment approaches to positively improve functional skills and is explored in further detail.

Monica J. Jones is an occupational therapist who works in a critical access hospital in Bishop, California. She graduated in 2014 with her master’s in occupational therapy from Lenoir-Rhyne University and received her post-professional doctorate from Boston University where her research focused on cognitive behavioral-based approaches to improve life skills in the outpatient setting. She is a contributing editor and book reviewer for the Occupational Therapy in Mental Health journal as well as a subject matter expert for Postpartum Support International (PSI).
