I liked how it defined both Mindfulness and Emotional intelligence and gave real life examples of each and how it relates to our profession. We do a lot of these things naturally as OTs, but may not have been aware that was what we were doing. I also liked how to practice each of these in our daily lives.

The course is good for a VERY basic understanding of mindfulness and emotional intelligence. I found it a little too basic personally. For newer practitioners it could be very useful, or those who have not been exposed to any mindfulness work of their own.I would have liked more challenging, stimulating materialt, and perhaps that I can use in my practice with pre teen and teens who have a lot of anxiety. I find there is a lack of education on that population.

I enjoyed the reminders about the importance of decompressing. I think as clinicians we can be very overstimulated with our clients and their health and well-being. I think it is critical that we remind ourselves of that daily in order to be in the best mindset to take care of our clients.

I liked the breakdown of physical, mental and behavior stress. It it on one powerpoint and easy for me to post on my wall during discussions with clients. Many of my clients complain of lack of focus and fatigue which lead to social withdrawal.
