Im worried about my 3 yo grandson, little or no speech and he mixes up ending sounds and says only the first part of the word! This was a very informative workshop!

I feel like I did not leave this course with any new information. She stated it was not a visual deficit disorder, but then listed many visual perception activities to complete. I would have liked more evidence to support how we can assist children and understanding behind it vs very generic treatment ideas and a shot in the dark.

I appreciate the speaker naming items in her screening for dyslexia such as diffifulty with naming letters of the alphabet, difficulty rhyming, trying to sound out sight words, etc. I appreciate Magan talking about accommodations such as allow the child to take the test orally; modifying work to read at the child's level, ideas for vocabulary homework, etc. I was not aware of integrating reflexes such as the ATNR and STNR for dyslexia.

The information was good and I appreciate that it does not overreach in regard to what OTs should be doing in regard to dyslexia. The presentation was lacking in that their was a lot of good information that was not visually represented in the slides, that made it difficult to follow.
