I thought the instructor did a great job of including new information I have not heard of. I liked all her examples. I loved how she did an intervention as an example. She also gave a ton of intervention ideas throughout the course that will help practitioners.

This is an interesting topic but I was very put off by the suggestion that’s it’s okay to release balloons at the beach as a means of coping with grief. That is a dangerous practice that should be discouraged. The risk to wildlife and sea animals is proven. I had a hard time engaging with the material after the course instructor mentioned this as a means of coping with grief.

Even the presenters tone in this presentation, felt empathetic. Her mention of 'therapeutic foundation of trust' is an area of concern for me personally, as I feel that time based regulations for treatment, do not allow for the development of this foundation .... an approach that my 50+ years of experience demonstrate is vital. I am very thankful I chose this course to take today!

I am an US Army Veteran on my lifelong healing journey from PTSD. I have also been a volunteer with the TAPS organization since 2006. Since becoming an OT, I have struggled to find my place in the field. Hearing about what you established in griefwork gives me hope that I might one day be able to use my degree to do this deeply meaningful work that has reconnected to me to purpose (and the best people I have known). Your students are so lucky to have you and I wish I was one of them!

The course had some practical tips on ways to interact and support children. There appeared to be somewhat of a bias of personal beliefs with using the words "crossover" frequently. The Christian faith was not adequately represented in the statement of belief of eternal afterlife on death.
