Ingrid helped design a playground near where I live so it was really neat to see this playground and listen to her thoughts on how to make playgrounds inclusive. I never understood accessible vs inclusive playgrounds and she was able to define that with good examples. She also provided good resources to check out.

Wow, super interesting interview, what a dream job. I learned a lot in this course on just how valuable an OT input is for inclusivity when it comes to designing and making parks and paths. I highly reccomend this talk for people who not only work with children, but seniors as well.

I was so excited about this podcast. Like the interviewer Dennis Cleary said, "I think every OT that has ever met you has wanted to be you." "You design play as your job." OTR/L, Ingrid Kanics was so interesting to listen to. I am so appreciative for all of the OT's that think outside the box. How OT's look at the environmental pieces, the activity analysis and the understanding of different medical conditions to help create play spaces is fabulous to me.

This was so interesting! The elementary I am based at just had a new building built along with the playground...which is totally lacking in all these elements. It makes me want to advocate to our district's executive team to make sure they are considering OT voices in these sorts of planning needs. If they are truly committed to making sure our schools are inclusive, then I think we OTs are essential to the teams making design decisions.
