I believe in using nature for best outcomes in nature, I loved that the first paragraph of the document stated that "people are genetically predisposed to connect with nature'.

I work in a locked, mental health facility which has little to offer patients from a sensory standpoint. I have been trying to education the facility on the importance of using nature to teach patients health coping strategies including having green space where patients can feel the grass under their feet, or a sensory garden where they can rub a lavender plant and get that olfactory input. Your presentation helps me want to advocate more strongly.

The information really enhanced my thinking by adding new theoretical constructs. In this evidenced-based practice society it was good to know there are positive outcomes utilizing nature as an intervention. My worry is these interventions take time and insurance companies don't like that. However I loved the course. Thank you.

I personally loved this course because two of my favorite things are OT and gardening and I really enjoyed learning about the therapeutic benefits of engaging in nature-based occupations. The information was presented in a clear, straightforward way that can be easily transferred to clinical practice and it was especially meaningful to me to see the evidence-based element of something that I feel that I have inherently known/felt for a long time.

Very important topic; the speaker presents information that encourages therapists to consider ways in which nature based practices can be implemented in whatever practice setting they are in to maximize client outcomes. This presentation gives great “food for thought” and is applicable for therapists in all practice settings and working with all populations.

I have practiced nature therapy all my life, starting with myself, of course. I have incorporated nature into my therapy sessions as much as possible throughout my 20+ years as an OTR. I have found few other therapists take interest in even using these beautiful spaces, elevated bed planters, flowers, trees even, BUT their patients wanted to use them. I have found SNF to be the easiest to convince upper management of the benefits and secure supplies. Gonna get your book! God bless you!

subject matter is important. inspired to see some academics putting words to the obvious - nature is healing - and advocating for therapy to occur outdoors for better outcomes and overall health. It's refreshing to see the important connection between person and planet is acknowledged and given value as well. So much relevant information! Nature is truly a strategy with reducing stress and serving as a reset in a physiological form through sensory integration. This can be extremely significant to young, developing children to lay the foundations for appropriate coping techniques.

The impact of being able to take my patients outside during my career has always been so beneficial on their mental health, safety awareness, physical engagement in activity (IE teaching a SC pt how to navigate in his wc to access all outside spaces safely},return to meaningful activity performance after injury/CVA-teaching safety w/use of yardwork tools, positional changes to access flower beds andcompensatory/ pacing strategies for falls prevention on uneven turf.
