With research confirming that access to nature improves physical and psychological well-being and learning, nature spaces are a vital fabric of vibrant and healthy communities. This course introduces occupational therapy's contribution in using this research and applying theory to promote the use of and creation of outdoor environments that promote individual, community, and population health, and beneficial and meaningful living.

An introduction to human trafficking for professionals working in health care settings. Topics covered include important terminology, the different types of human trafficking, and the scope of the problem within the United States. How to recognize the signs and risk factors for trafficking and conducting trauma-informed screenings for victims are also reviewed.

Current rehabilitation approaches for patients with a variety of neuropsychiatric conditions, including dementia, schizophrenia, and functional movement disorders, will be addressed in this course. Evidence-based innovative interventions will target a variety of mobility and AOL limitations to enhance patients' function and overall quality of life and reduce caregiver burden.

The use of electrical stimulation with individuals post-stroke will be discussed in this course. Background information about electrical stimulators, their use, and practical tips in the clinic will also be provided.

Key considerations in the initial management, surgical interventions, and the essential role of occupational therapy in the comprehensive rehabilitation process for humeral fractures will be explored. Evidence-based approaches to maximize recovery, enhance mobility, and restore strength in patients with humeral fractures will also be discussed.

The anatomy of the humerus, the different types of fractures, and their underlying causes will be reviewed in this course.

Explore DBT skills for OT intervention with adolescents. Research on DBT with adolescents will be discussed, and practical strategies and examples for utilizing DBT skills in OT practice with adolescents will be provided.

The evidence overwhelmingly supports the positive role of nature in health and well-being. In this course, attendees will learn about nature-based therapy and its application to clinical practice across the life course. This is part of the Continued Learning Podcast series.
