I feel like (given the title and focus) it’s strange the presenter referred to his wife as a “Cherokee princess” several times. I think he was joking and serious - but no explanation was given… I’ve lived among Navajo and as a white man I learned plenty during that time about the depth of all I did not know. I feel like it would’ve been better to spend time talking about cultural humility then making statements that only encourage a history we should all educate ourselves on.

The instructor did a good job of describing the difference between spirituality and religion. He gave me more confidence to explore the topic of spirituality with clients to improve therapeutic relationships. Spirituality should not be a taboo topic, but should be approached with a client-centered focus as it is important to many for healing.

engaging methods used by the speaker helped with keeping my attention, the personal examples were very good; I have had the priviledge of living in different countries and observing their cultures which I felt has given me some intuitive abilities to connect the people or what it takes to connect and this course helped remind me, ignited the spark, of being mindful of culture and its impact on the people I treat

A lot I have learned along the way in my career and just interacting with people and patients in generally. I had a very long travel career so learned early on about community culture. I have traveled internationally and understand national culture soooooo most of this was not new information. I did find the presenter engaging though and enjoyed listening

Helpful because if one was raised with religion/spirituality they tend to see things a little more differently and try to help their patients understand in a way how they can view life. It also eases pain because therapy, therapists, can involve some unfortunate cases.
