There was a lot of very good information, but it felt like it jumped around. The a was addressed twice as though it was the first time. I’m sure in the actual presentation it was easier. But in written it was just a little more difficult at least for me.

I think this is an important area of pediatric OT practice and an area of concern for a lot of families, so I'm glad this course was available. While I think it was helpful in talking about the assessment of sleep challenges, I don't think it was as effective at providing many treatment approaches once the challenges are identified. The presenter had two hours and I don't think she used the time very effectively. I also feel like the presenter did a lot of promoting of her own assessment tool.

I was really hoping for more information on how to help families with children who have ASD and are non-verbal and not as "high functioning" as the kids mentioned in this course. What if they cannot use a sleep log, engage in mindfulness/body scans, understand the worry shell, etc?

The presenter addressed cultural pieces and family structure pieces that make up families and that we have no control over (e.g. we can provide the education but can't force anyone). It's helpful to have assessments to use and a model (SAAQ) to inform our approaches to sleep vs. just suggesting a weighted blanket. I appreciate that this course was incredibely research based and provides several articles/studies I can follow up with.
