I thought that this course did a great job of explaining the different types of recommendations that we can make to our patients to help patients who have chronic pain cope with their pain in order to help improve their quality of life.

I appreciated how the presenter tied the use of pacing, work simplification, self monitoring strategies, and healthful life choices. The partnership of the care team is also such a strong piece of the clients support and accountability network. I always appreciate the interdisciplinary model.

Nice way to package our holistic OT approach to client centered, lifestyle redesign for this population of growing persons. Well done. I will only add that in our work with these clients, we had clients graph their hand volumes pre and post activity as well as diagram pain locations. Very effective feedback and self efficacy strategy overtime and worked in spite of UE, LE, or back diagnoses.

The information was thorough and consistent with my knowledge and research however it did not include the following: 1. How an imbalance in the CNS specifically inhibition of the PNS, can maximize pain and heighten sensitivity receptors. Also I have found a direct correlation between eating enriched whole wheat (found in 90% of the grocery store products) can cause a wide-spread inflammatory response which increases a person's chronic pain (I recommend sign reduction of any wheat product).
