There was a lot of good information in this course but it felt rushed. The beginning seemed a bit introductory and then the rate and depth of her coverage of the case study and remediation techniques seemed to gloss over or be for more advanced practitioners

I am a seasoned therapist with a fieldwork concentration in vision therapy with TBI/CVA patients, transitioning to school-based practice I have utilized my knowledge the best I could. This course provided an easy framework to rethink how I evaluate and focus my treatment plan with my students. It adds to my previous knowledge and has me rethinking my assessments. It also encourages me to speak with my Assistive Technology team that I am a specialist to review our consultative/evaluation model.

I really liked that it made me think of different perspectives of levels of vision. I have some clients that have visual problems with copying things from the board or formation of letters and sometimes I forget to work on those basic skills beforehand. I think this will really help me as a therapist.

As stated above, the presenter was very knowledgable and the material was presented in an organized fashion, but it was a lot for me to take in during a one-hour course. I feel this course was more suited for OTR's than COTA's. Also, I used to do a lot of gross-motor activities with kids when I worked in a pediatric out-patient clinic, but I do no have the appropriate space and/or equipment to perform gross-motor tasks with my students at school. Therefore the activities are unrealistic for me.

I liked the class becasue it was based on a case study of a seven year old boy. The speaker is very knowledgable on vision issues and discusses the Hiarchy of visual development and how vision issue present themselves in the school environment and in the child in the case study. Following a case study is super helpful at getting a feel on what to look for when trying to help children with oculomotor and perceptual vision challenges.

Great presentation of strategies and use of research for Visual assessments and what they highlight for visual challenges in the classroom. Ms. Quint presented all of her content in a very succinct, organized visual manner for ease of understanding, which I can go back to and use a visual reference when analyzing my own students to determine strengths and deficits areas. She was enthusiastic, cited many examples of treatment activities, including them for future reference in her PowerPoint, and continued to cite how "whole body" activities integrate and improve visual skills.
