Thought the explanation of Vision Therapy and how it relates to OT was beneficial. Not able to shadow a vision therapist and trying to piece together a good explanation for parents, colleagues, and students. Thank you for that. It is nice to have the transcript available as I often find myself starting and stopping the presentation to write down information that I find useful. Will be helpful to look back at.

I'm fascinated with vision's impact in the school setting. All of this information validated my concerns and the tells me that there is so much more that is needed for the students we see in the school setting. I appreciated the presenter's humility for co-management for these vision conditions and how it is so much more complicated than the referral that a student cannot hold a pencil so they "must" need OT to participate in any handwriting task.

I'm in a private school setting. I wonder now if the nurses test vision there, because it is true as an OT I can't recommend an eye consult, but I struggle because I know the student should have one. I also found it interesting that if the nurse recommends a consult the school doesn't have to pay for it. Wonder if this is true in all states?
