Wheelchair seating encompasses evaluation, postural management, pressure mitigation, and facilitating function. Seating strategies change, however, when applied to specific client populations. This course will address considerations when working with pediatric, geriatric, bariatric, and degenerative populations.

Applying ergonomic concepts to areas of occupation outside of the domain of work will be reviewed in this course. Building OT's capacity of incorporating cultural humility into their everyday practice is the purpose of this course. It will also stress the importance of self-reflection to allow OTs to examine their attitudes on cultural humility and foster views about acceptance and inclusion to create more authentic and meaningful therapeutic relationships with their clients.
