We will discuss the developmental characteristics of children with visual impairments and specifically how these children develop trust in the feeding relationship. Strategies for breast and bottle feeding and transitions to solids and utensils will be presented in support of parent success.

In this course, participants will learn about the Montessori principles of independence according to one’s ability and the benefits of the prepared environment. This course aims to establish baseline knowledge for identifying torticollis and plagiocephaly and provide early treatment ideas for the therapist and family.

This course is designed to assist the long term care (LTC) therapist to have a better understanding of the changing body of an elderly resident and the increased risk of sitting in an abnormal posture. It discusses health issues related to prolonged sitting in an abnormal posture. The course identifies the goals of an LTC when it comes to positioning the elderly resident in a wheelchair considering these postures and health-related issues.
